Product Description
The most authoritative and innovative guide to professional football (previously known as "Pro Football Prospectus") is back for an all-new season with more cutting-edge statistical analysis, obsessive film study, and trademark humor. Includes comprehensive coverage of all 32 NFL teams, analysis of offseason personnel changes, over 500 KUBIAK fantasy football projections, and breakdowns of every team from the six BCS conferences plus the top independent and mid-major college football teams. New research topics include the development of college quarterbacks, running back consistency at the goal line, and a projection system for which college sack artists will be NFL stars or busts.

Every NFL fan should own this book. There's something for everyone. Extensive chapters on every team including incredible stats that you just don't see anywhere else. Reports and projections for every skill player, with great insights that will help Fantasy Football players. Years of statistical analysis that make you think a bit more about the game, even if you don't agree with all their conclusions. Buy this book. You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Great Font of Football Knowledge   August 23, 2010

This book offers a great deal of data for anyone willing to go through it. Comprised of numerous charts, summaries, and analysis this book is chock full of information. There is a bit of a learning curve to fully understanding the whole book, though. In order to get the most out of the book you need to read the explanation about the stats they use. It can be a little grueling but, for a true Football Fan, it is worth it. For someone really into football this book earns 5 stars. If you are a more casual fan this earns 4 stars because you may find the initial output of reading to understand the book off-putting but in the end I found it worth it.

5 out of 5 stars Football outsiders almanac   August 30, 2010

Great book...one minor issue with the fact that the edges of pages were cut-off too close to the text. Luckily, I can still read letter halves. Beyond that, another great read.

4 out of 5 stars STICK TO THE FACTS   July 31, 2010

I love this book and order it as soon as it's available. Great analysis of pro football and college teams in areas not even dreamed of by most fans.

One huge drawback for me in this edition was having the AFC North analyzed by a writer with an "inexplicable passion for the Cincinnati Bengals" as per the analyst's Bio provided by the Editor.

His snide references to the other three teams in the division and his petty comments of their players certainly detracts from the total enjoyment of the publication - at least for me. This type
of tackiness is consistent with the so-called 'shock' reporting rampant today, but totally unnecessary if you want the facts.

I would also like to see a table depicting team win projections for the coming season coupled with their opponent's strength
of schedule. For example, Baltimore 11.6 wins projected with the 11th toughest strength of schedule and Indianapolis 11.3 wins projected with the 26th toughest strength of schedule. This information is available for all teams - it just needs to be summarized into a table or graph.
